Y12 Literature PREP: T3 Week 7 [Fri]

Y11 Eng. Language PREP: T3 Week S’ven

“Body language can be conveyed through the uses of lexemes such as ‘facepalm’ or ‘headdesk.’ It is, however, true that intonation cannot be easily conveyed in EMC, which means tones such as sarcasm may be harder to detect in EMC and need to be derived through context.” – Thushan on atarnotes

    • Write a short reflection discussing the structure and quality of the essay (with specific reference to what was done well)
  • Collect at least 10 quotes about language change or language use
  • Pre-read pages 190-201 of your textbook

PREP –

  • Complete 3 tasks: context, views & values and analysis of Bacchae
  • Complete readings: play, introduction and explanation of Aristotle’s Poetics
  • For your tutorial on a poem: read it and read at least 3 reputable pieces analysing the poem.

AND

  • Work on your folder of notes for the exam

The PREP this week is as follows;

  • Complete reading the play and the introduction to it.
  • Have a look at this site which explains Aristotle’s Poetics http://www2.cnr.edu/home/bmcmanus/poetics.html
  • Complete 3 learning resource tasks (context, analysis and views/values)
  • Choose 1 of the set poems by Eliot to analyse. Read it and read at least 3 reputable pieces analysing the poem.

The PREP this week is as follows;

  • Read a summary of the play online. Shmoop and sparknotes are good sites for this.
  • Read about the Jew in Elizabethan times in the A3 handouts I have provided
  • Complete character web (if you were absent ask peers who took a photo of example on board)
  • Complete a more detailed character profile, for the one character you have chosen
